Hypertensive Patients Knowledge, Attitude and Practice for Stroke Prevention

Introduction: Worldwide, Stroke becomes a public health problem. In India, reports indicating towards its emerging epidemic in near future. Hypertensive disease is considered as predisposing factor for Stroke. The present study aimed to assess knowledge, attitude and practice of hypertensive patients stroke prevention Uttarakhand, India.
 Methodology: was cross sectional conducted on 243 who were visiting outpatient department All India Institute Medical sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh by using purposively sampling technique. Structured questionnaire used collect data from participants the study. Data analysis done SPSS version 23.0 statistical package.
 Results: Majority more than 60 years age, male, illiterate no family history hypertension. Most taking their regular treatment 185 (76%) having poor knowledge prevention. 215 (88%) had neutral strategies whereas majority (64%) following good practices.
 Conclusion: Findings suggested that policy makers should focus education high risk group also empower them with control rising curve globally.
